Meet May!

May recently accepted the role of Youth Engagement and Research Intern for the summer of 2022.

May is entering their fourth year at StFX, studying a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. They were born in Amherst, Nova Scotia and grew up in Malagash, Nova Scotia. They graduated from Pugwash District High School before moving to Antigonish to continue their education at StFX.ย

As the Youth Engagement and Research Intern, May will be assisting in the development and implementation of the Youth Engagement Framework as well as developing an independent project under the supervision of Addy Strickland. Through their work, they are excited for the opportunity to investigate the experiences of youth living with disabilities and LGBTQ+ youthโ€ฏin the workplace.

โ€œTo create safer spaces and develop projects with the focus of enacting positive change for youth, listening to the perspectives of diverse youth is essential to understanding their experiences, priorities, and any potential barriers they might faceโ€ฏin the workplace.โ€ย
