Innovation Series: Volunteering Partnership Benefits Everybody

Randy Parsons, a job seeker working with Nova Scotia Works CANSA, became a volunteer for the Canadian Red Cross through a unique partnership between the two organizations. The goal of the partnership is to provide opportunities for job seekers to gain meaningful experiences, increase their confidence, add to their resume, and deepen their connection to the community. Randy has maintained his volunteer commitment for many years – even after gaining meaningful employment.

In addition to improving service for Nova Scotia Works CANSA and job seekers, the Canadian Red Cross and the greater local community benefit through the services provided by the volunteers. The partnership began in 2005 and like Randy, many volunteers have continued to serve with the Canadian Red Cross long-term.

Série Innovation: Le partenariat de bénévolat profite à tout le monde

Randy Parsons, un chercheur d’emploi qui travaillait avec le centre CANSA de Nouvelle-Écosse au travail, a fait du bénévolat auprès de la Croix-Rouge canadienne grâce à un partenariat unique entre les deux organisations. L’objectif de ce partenariat est d’offrir aux chercheurs d’emploi la possibilité d’acquérir une expérience valorisante, de renforcer leur confiance en eux, d’enrichir leur CV et d’approfondir leurs liens avec la collectivité. Randy a poursuivi son engagement à titre bénévole pendant de nombreuses années, même après avoir obtenu un emploi intéressant.

Ce projet améliore les services offerts par le centre CANSA de Nouvelle-Écosse au travail aux personnes à la recherche d’un emploi, et la Croix-Rouge canadienne et l’ensemble de la collectivité locale bénéficient en plus des services fournis par les bénévoles. Ce partenariat a débuté en 2005 et, comme Randy, de nombreux bénévoles ont continué à servir la Croix-Rouge canadienne à long terme.
